Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2018

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Every year, the Ontario government publishes its annual Sunshine List of public sector servants with six-figure salaries. According to the document, City of London's 538 staffers made the Sunshine List, earning total compensation of $74,640,827.56 in 2017.

Topping the list for the City of London was City Manager Arthur Zuidema, who brought home $249,814.38 in 2017.

Following Arthur Zuidema was City Manager Martin Philip Hayward, with annual earnings of $237,970.39. Fire Chief John Kobarda made $203,814.73, Senior Qualified Firefighter David Glenn Cowdrey made $199,929.30, and Managing Director Neighbourhood, Children and Fire Services Lynne Livingstone round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $193,994.95 for the City of London 2018 Sunshine List.
